LIGOTools allows LLO users to access Data Viewer or Diagnostic Test Tool to view the data from general-computing workstations (except abundance, basin and aris) just as if they were in the control room. The daily usage log of LIGOTools is posted here.
Here's how to use it:
1. Log into any computer on the General Computing network (GC) (except abundance, basin and aris) and set the DISPLAY variable to point to your local machine.e.g. ssh -u YOURNAME bayou.ligo-la.caltech.edu
setenv DISPLAY 145.45.67.89:0.0
2. Type 'dtt' to bring up the Diagnostics Test Tools main window.
3. Under the "File" menu, choose "Setup..."
4. Click on the radiobutton next to "Server:", and type "london" in the box. Click "Ok".
5. Now you can start up Data Viewer or one of the DTT functions as you normally do!
FYI:
I have set up the "ndsproxy" program at Livingston, running on london under username "controls". ndsproxy lives in /cvs/cds/llo/web/ndsproxy. It updates a usage log, /cvs/cds/llo/web/ndsproxy/ndsproxy_daily_usage.html, whenever there is some activity; at Hanford, the LHO log file is viewable from a link on the CDS web page. There is currently no provision to automatically restart ndsproxy if london is rebooted. Peter
